Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 22, 2026 Last Updated: June 22, 2026

The Perlite Institute (“Perlite Institute,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website at https://www.perlite.org (the “Site”), how we use and share that information, and the choices you have regarding it.

The Perlite Institute is a worldwide professional association and is professionally managed by Synergos AMC, an association management company that performs administrative functions on our behalf. By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide to Us

We collect information you provide directly when you:

  • Apply for, renew, or manage a membership
  • Create or log in to a member or customer account
  • Purchase a product, publication, or resource through our online store
  • Register or buy tickets for an event, such as our annual meeting
  • Submit a contact form, inquiry, or request through the Site
  • Subscribe to communications or request information
  • Post a comment or otherwise interact with content on the Site

Depending on the activity, this information may include your name, company or organization name, job title, email address, telephone number, mailing address, billing and shipping addresses, account username and password, membership details, and any other information you choose to provide.

Payment Information

When you make a purchase, pay membership dues, or register for a paid event, your payment is processed by third-party payment processors, including Stripe and Authorize.net. Payment card details are collected and processed directly by these processors and are not stored on our servers. If you choose an alternative payment method offered at checkout — such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link, Klarna, or Affirm — the applicable provider may collect and process your information under its own privacy policy. We receive limited transaction details, such as confirmation of payment, the last digits of a card, and billing information necessary to fulfill and record your order.

Member Directory Information

If your company participates in our “Find a Member” directory, certain information — such as company name, location, products or services offered, and business contact details — may be displayed publicly on the Site. Please provide only directory information that you are comfortable making available to the public.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain technical information, including your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, links clicked, and the dates and times of your visits. We collect this information using cookies and similar technologies (see “Cookies and Tracking Technologies” below).

Information from Security and Anti-Spam Tools

To protect the Site and our users, we use security and anti-spam services. Our forms, checkout, and comment areas are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We also use CleanTalk anti-spam services, which may process information such as your IP address, email address, and form submission content to detect and block spam and fraudulent activity.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, keep you logged in, maintain shopping cart and checkout functionality, and understand how the Site is used.

We use Google Analytics to help us understand visitor activity and improve the Site. Google Analytics may set cookies and collect information about your use of the Site. You can learn more about how Google uses this data at https://policies.google.com/privacy, and you can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. If you disable certain cookies, some features of the Site — including login, cart, and checkout — may not function properly.
