Whittemore Company is a manufacturer of Perlite and Vermiculite Products. Our main market areas are Horticultural, Construction and Industrial. We produce the standard Perlite and Vermiculite Grades and can readily process either Mineral to your exact specification.

For the product needs of the Construction and Industrial markets, Whittemore is equipped to blend cement, plaster, as well as other ingredients, with our Perlite or Vermiculite for such uses as chimney lining, fireproofing, swimming pool aggregate, in addition to low or high temperature insulation materials, as well as many other blended applications.

Whittemore Company, thru specialized processing equipment, produces Perlite Filter Aid Products. Several grades are available. We can also tailor a product to suit your particular application or processing requirement.

Whittemore Company’s main service area is the Eastern USA and Canada but we also ship to destinations throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean Basin. Additionally we load Containers for world-wide export shipment.

Whittemore Company’s roots have been traced back to 1919. Located in Roslindale, Massachusetts, the company was originally established to distribute feed, grain and coal. In 1949 Whittemore started expanding perlite, operating the third known perlite furnace in the United States. In 1973 the Sheehy family purchased Whittemore Company and moved it from Roslindale to Andover, Massachusetts. The company remained at this location until 1985 when it was relocated to its present site in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
