Cascade of Contracts
(IC Teesside.co.uk - 8/11/04) reports "Cleveland
Cascades, which has developed a dust-free system of
loading dry bulk materials, . . . has recently completed
13 projects - of which five are shiploader systems -
including a turnkey project for Sarda di Bentonite which
will handle bentonite at 600 tonnes per hour and is
the third installation on the island of Sardinia where
the company has shiploader systems working on perlite
and lumina. All of the island's major ports now use

Officials address liquid natural
gas safety concerns (The WorldLink.com, 8/21/04).
The article reports on a proposal for a $150 million
liquefied natural gas import terminal on the North Spit
of Coos Bay, Oregon. "The proposed storage tank, a 120-foot
tall vessel, would be double-hulled and self-containing
in case of leaks. Three feet of perlite would surround
a metal interior. That, in turn, would be capped by
three feet of concrete. If leaks occur, spills are contained
