Perlite Institute regularly
schedules four meetings.
These meetings may be attended
by all members of the Institute although the International
Group meeting, which is generally held in the fall,
is specifically designed to meet the needs of members
outside of the United States.
The Institute's Annual
Meeting is held every fall (beginning in 2007). Every
second year this meeting is held at a location outside
of the Americas to make the meeting more accessible
to International Group members.
The Institute currently
has three Mid-Year Meeting s- a location in the United
States, Europe and the Asia-Pacific- in the spring
(beginning in 2007). Every effort is made to vary the
geographic location of meetings to accommodate the
worldwide membership of the Institute.
In addition
to committee meetings and meetings of the Board of
Directors, featured speakers are invited to make presentations.
Plant tours or tours to perlite user facilities are
often scheduled. The Institute's Mid-Year meeting often
has a seminar scheduled on such topics of general interest
as marketing, selling techniques, furnacing, or new
product development.
One of the most important benefits
of these meetings is the opportunity to meet informally
with perliters from around the world to discuss subjects
of common interest.
